Buddy Boating

The first thing you learn about actually cruising full time is you really want to have a buddy boat to travel with. Going into buying this boat I was really overwhelmed by a lot of things and this was one of them… we don’t know anyone personally who does this! I mean I follow a bunch of cool people on Instagram but where in the world were we going to find a buddy boat?!?!? 😱

As luck would have it when we hauled out our boat at Scorpion Marina in Cape Canaveral and Earl (the boatyard guru) serendipitously parked our boat right next to this giant catamaran that housed a boat family who would instantly become our first boat friends. We spent months in the yard helping each other and cheering each other on to get our boats in the water.

And then within a week of each other we both splashed! 💦

After dropping dad off in Sebastian the next leg of our trip was to catch up to our buddy boat in West Palm, and guess what?!?!? We made it! They picked a great anchorage and we have spent the last two days de-stressing, hanging out on the beach of Peanut Island in West Palm Beach and plotting our next course.

Keys or bust! 🛥⛵️🏝
