Waiting on the Blow

I follow lots of other sailors and cruisers on Instagram. From the eastern US seaboard to the Bahamas & Caribbean…. this week it seems like we are all hiding out…. perched and ready to pounce on the next weather window.

The winds are blowing unusually hard for this time of year… today and tomorrow is blowing at 30 knots! Crazy.

For all you non-boaters we are looking at 5-7 ft seas with ‘occasional’ 9-10 ft… maybe higher?!?!? At any rate we will not be attempting to find out first hand.

We are safely tucked in a really nice marina in Marathon. We are super lucky to have access to outdoor living spaces, bathrooms, showers and laundry. We are also hooked up to shore power which is a luxury in itself… power all day long without running the generator and AIR CONDITIONING. These kids better not get used to it… lol.

To be honest I’m itching to shove off…. the thrill of not know where we are going, being on the open water and living on the hook has seeped deep in my veins.Oh and also the longer we stay here the more boat projects we find to do. But I guess that’s true boat living lol.

Here’s hoping we get to shove off soon.

Cheers from Marathon,
~Christy & Crew
